DOES YOUR WORKPLACE RUN AN ANNUAL UNITED WAY CAMPAIGN? PLEASE CONSIDER DESIGNATING YOUR GENEROUS GIFT TO HOPE INC.
Please be sure that you designate to the correct HOPE (Helping Other Parents Everywhere) with charitable registration number 83946 7693 RR001 and not confused with the another HOPE (Helping Other People Everywhere). Your generosity is very much appreciated.
United Way is a charity dedicated to creating opportunities for a better life for everyone in our region. Working in partnership with others, people and resources are mobilized to support a network of agencies, such as HOPE Inc, that help people when they need it most. United Way also addresses the root causes of social problems, working to change community conditions for the better over the long term.
Thanks to this incredible support, the proceeds from the silent auction broke all records at the HOPE annual conference held May 4, 2019. Funds will be used for the education of the membership, so HOPE can grow and meet the growing needs of communities. It is expected that two or more community groups will open in the coming months. A special thanks to Underwood's Catering for the excellent food, Starbucks (Mount Pleasant) for the great coffee, and the amazing staff at the Toronto Botanical Garden, adding to the success of the day. A heartfelt thanks to the speakers for sharing their time and expertise - Maureen and James Brine, Ann Douglas and from Jack.org Gabby and Kristen.

Pickering Rotarians work hard all year long raising funds through such events as the Pickering Rib and Wing Fest, Community Bingo and the Pickering Rotary Music Festival to name a few. These efforts allow The Rotary Club of Pickering to support local charities, including HOPE.

Volunteers are needed for both the Pickering Rotary Music Festival February 21 - March 7, 2019 and the Pickering Rib and Wing Fest May 31, June 1 and 2, 2019. This Sunday November 4, 2018 CAMH's Director of Health Equity Dr. Kwame McKenzie and University of Toronto Psychology professor Dr. Tina Malti will join Vancouver-based therapist and host Hillary McBride on stage, featuring audio clips from one of Hillary's real sessions with a client. They will discuss how we learn to hold both the positive and negative ways that our parents made us who we are. And now -- how do we grow beyond what we inherited? Don't miss this lively and interactive discussion about how childhood shapes our adult lives.
